Safe Feed / Safe Food

Food Safety is becoming more prominent in consumers mind’s everyday. The Feed Industry has a direct responsibility to these consumers in the feeds to we produce for livestock or pets around the country. We have probably all heard a news story over the last year that has made us question something in our own lives, whether it be what we are feeding our pets, our livestock, or even what we are eating ourselves.

Poulin Grain, Inc. is continually looking to increase our quality standards and awareness of these concerns. The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) created a Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program to demonstrate proactive food safety leadership, communicate the importance of controlling potential risks to the industry and to increase the awareness of the industry’s feed safety role and responsibility. Poulin Grain decided to participate in this program as to place a higher priority on the safety of the feed products that we produce.

This extensive feed safety control program includes assessing and controlling hazards, tracing and tracking products, and documenting and controlling aspects of processing and manufacturing that effect feed safety.

We are proud to say that we have been licensed by AFIA’s Safe Feed/Safe Food Program to use the Safe Feed/Safe Food seal on our products and feed labels. You will notice this logo on our bagged feeds that we tag at our mill.
